30/12/2011: Happy New Year to everyone who's supported us in 2011, we've had a blast. It's been the busiest Drop the Fish year so far! We're looking forward to 2012 and our first gig at The Greyfisher on 1st January, in aid of the great Lucy's Days Out charity. This is a ticket-only event - please call the LDO office on 01722 325485 for more info.

07/10/2011: Wow, sickness hit us for two weeks, wipe out! Resting up ready to have a blast at The Duck in Laverstock on 8th. Listen out for two new songs in the set - the one by The Specials and the one by The Rolling Stones. See you there.

29/09/2011: Sickness alert!! Members are dropping like flies as a fluey sickness bug thing sweeps through the band. Not very rock'n'roll we know but even rock gods get sick. We're only human after all. [citation needed]

22/09/2011: Two in a row. We played Winterslow last Friday then Langford on Saturday. Big up to everyone who came to suppport the Charities at Winterslow Village Hall or who shared a good time with the Fish at the Langford Beer Festival. Special hello to those who were at both - we love ya!

17/08/11: Come and see DTF and help support two amazing local charities, BLESMA and Hope & Homes for Children. Winterslow Village Hall on Friday 16th September at 8pm. More details here.

30/07/11: Decided we'd rather play in a hot pub than in a hot practice room, so we rolled up to Music4Fun at Conrans on Thursday. No soundchecks allowed, just plug in and go. Scary, but fun! Oh, and did we mention hot? Well done to everyone involved.

09/06/11: Having two brains is clearly something of a burden. While the rest of us sleep soundly in our beds, only one of Steve's brains rests. The other cogitates on the problems of the world and how to further improve the Drop the Fish experience for our loyal fans. The other night something unusual happened - a collision of these two strands of thought in a moment of cognitive fusion.

What if Drop the Fish could save the world from global warming AND become a better band? Could it be possible?

Clearly getting rid of Dickie's Audis is not viable (he loves them too much), and Roy needs his massive van for work.
But surely there's a way to reduce our carbon footprint whilst improving the spectacle of our performance?

And then Steve's genius struck....

LED lighting! New state of the art stage lighting replacing our high-emission filament kit. Not only a better lighting system but with the added benefit of reduced radiant temperatures on stage directly reducing global warming (perhaps).

Soon our light show will be LED powered and the whole world will feel the benefits. If you would like to reduce climate change and support a great band come and check us out soon.

07/06/11: What a blast! South Newton Massive rocked on Saturday. Thank you soo much for all the support.

21/05/11: Excellent gig at the Wig & Quill in Salisbury last night. We're always humbled that so many people turn out to join us at our annual Salisbury Live appearance. Can't believe it's been a whole year since the last one - it seems to come round more often than the Horse of the Year show!

20/05/11: Need to mention Bobby. Bob Cooke was the band's guitarist from inception until he unfortunately retired in 2010 through illness. Bob is one of the original Salisbury rockers and was signed by Ian Gillan back in the 70s with local legends "Jerusalem". During his time with Drop the Fish, Bob built the set and carried both rhythm and lead guitar parts without compromise.

23/02/11: Next gig confirmed as 12th March at the The Royal Oak, Great Wishford. Second time out with our new guitarist Roy. Should be a good 'un.

21/02/11: Drop the Fish booked for Friday night of Salisbury Live 2011, playing at the Wig and Quill.

18/02/11: Catch DTF at The Lord Nelson in Winterslow. Especially please welcome our new guitarist Roy. He's done a superb job of learning our 25 song set list for tonight. Best of luck Roy and don't forget the endings!
